These photos show repairs to the rotten window sills at Essex House undertaken on 14 July 2020. Although the rotten wooden external sills have been removed they were previously connected to the internal wooden frames which are also rotten but have not been removed. The orange arrows point to areas of wood rot which were left in place when the new hardwood sills were installed. See this link to the same window prior to repair.

The orange arrow points to an area of internal rot which was not repaired when the external wood sill was replaced.

Note the intention to only repair half the sill at the front of this window

Note that only half of the rotten wooden sill at the front of the bay window has been replaced. Also that the new wood has covered up the remaining rotten wood shown in the previous photo which was left in situ.

Note half new wood and half old wood.

Note the rotten wood at the base of the old sill. Why was this rotten sill on the RHS not replaced at the same time as the rotten wood on the LHS ?
